I've been looking around for a new laptop bag as my old one is for a 15.4" laptop. Today I found the Case Logic E-Sling and I thought it was the perfect bag. However, the SR ALMOST fits, but the zipper won't close over it. It's only made for 12" laptops so that was pretty much expected.

Can't post urls yet so here's a hacked version:
    caselogic.com/case_logic/e_sling_large/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=125396

Does anybody know this bag and have a suggestion for something similar that does fit the SR?

How about SONY VAIO Black 13.3" VAIO Compact Carrying Case, from newegg or sonystyle. I think sony has it for like 39.99 or was it 49.99, ahh forgot but newegg has it for 32.99, i wanted to get one, but i dont have the money for it right now. BTW its 32.99 unshipped and excluding tax. Also another note, i m not 100% sure it fits even thought it says 13.3. Since i haven't tried it yet, i dont want to guarantee anything

I appreciate the suggestion, but it's not quite a Vertical Messenger bag. However, after some searching I found the following:

    TSM043US | Targus 13.3” radius Vertical Messenger
    targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=TSM043US
This one just seems a bit boring and a bit limited in what it can hold.

    STM Small Alley

Not bad but I long for a little color

    STM Small Loft
    stmbags.com.au/products.php?id=26&name=small_loft_13&category=shoulderbags
We may have a winner here. I might prefer a different color combination, but I'm kinda digging this one.

What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

I have been looking at the timbuk2 hacker. It seems over priced at ~$100, but it has the best of both the messenger style and backpack style in a vertical package.

Yeah, they sure do like those Timbuk2 bags.

Actually, I'm looking for something more compact; just large enough to hold the laptop, power supply, and a few other small items.

I was really leaning toward the STM Small Alley, but some of my friends say it is too "Fall."

Again, not a vertical messenger bag. It seems the vertical messenger bag is not an extremely popular configuration.
