    Hi there,

I have exchanged the buil in HDD in my Vaio SA4 with an Intel 560 SSD. Everything went fine and works, but now I have experienced some heat where the SSD is, when working with the laptop.
When I am just normally working or surfing on the laptop, stamina mode etc., the place for the right palm gets quite hot in my opinion.
The left side/palm rest stays quite cool all the time.
A tool to read the out S.M.A.R.T-data, doesn't display the temperature from the SSD, so I can't really tell how much the temperature really is.

Does anyone else experience something like this, or is some heat there normal?

I have had ssd's get warm to the touch, but you actually have to open the laptop up and feel it while it's on to tell. A ssd should definitely not be getting hot enough to make the rest of the laptop hot.

I have just checked the laptop case and opened it after using the computer for some time.
The SSD itself is not that warm like the chassis. It seems there is something else which is heating up right under the SSD...

Surprisingly the CPUID Hardware Monitor does not show the temperatur of the SSD, just the temperature of the HDD which I built into the slot of the DVD drive...

I probably never had any SSD with temp sensor...maybe because I never had SSD which would produce any noticeable heat...

It's still quite strange. Everyone says it shouldn't produce any heat, but sometimes it does, though not all the time...
