Hey guys, I have an interesting problem, and thought hopefully one of you might have an answer. I have an old early 2009 Z-540, and sometimes the sound card is non-functional upon start-up, as in it doesn't show up at all (not disabled). It seems like shaking things around physically a little fixes the problem temporarily, as dumb as that may seem, but I was hoping for perhaps a more permanent fix. Does anyone know where the sound card in the Z is physically located? I have no problems opening up and working on the computer, and have done so previously, so that's not an issue, I just want to make a tight fit or clean contacts wherever that may be necessary.

If not, can anyone recommend a good solution to my problem, or perhaps a decent flush express card sound card?

    Thanks!

In short: does anyone know where the sound card in the vgn-z is physically located?
