I just bought the VGN-AR320E(paid $1699.99+tx) I also thinking that it had 335mb dedicated memory but I just found out that it only has 64mb!!! This is @#$%-S#$@!!! This is a SCAM!!! even at the place I bought this laptop their advertise tag and that *******sales man clearly stated that it has 2gb of HDD along with 355mb of video ram. Am I the only one in the Twlight Zone???
Today my brother bought HP laptop that has a little faster CPU but it truly has 512mb of video ram and it shared 271 system memory that adds up to 783mb and paid almost $400 less then VGN-AR320E. I would not ever bought this laptop if I knew all about this at first place.

It's not really fraud, or twilight zone.
The 335mb is a total of dedicated video memory and shared memory. All vendors simply state the total to try and throw off consumers, but then list the details in the fine print.
Stupid way of business, I know, but there's not much you can really do. -
hakim0603,
exactly what jon-micheal said. Vendors generally state the total allocated ram, and not the actual breakdown of system and dedicated. I wouldn't consider it fraud on their part, since it's the video card maker's technology that they're utilizing. Ati, Nvidia, and intel integrated ALL have forms of this where they use system ram as video ram too. If anything, you should be mad at the video card chipset companies for making this
Be happy with your 64MB dedicated, 271MB shared.. My toshiba A135 Ati chip has 32MB onboard and 192MB shared...
by the way, was it really necessary to make a new post AND revive a dead one?
And did you even bother to read the replies to that lengthy thread or did you just read the first post and base you double post on that? -
It's not a fraud if its been noted. Somewhat your fault for not being thorough in your research. If you're not happy, return it.
