    Hi,
I'm trying to downgrade my laptop from vista home premium to xp pro. However, the install xp is "greyed out." I was somehow able to fix that and now it says there is a compatibility issue and tells me ot check the Microsoft site. When I reset the BIOS to boot from the cd, it completely ignores the CD and continues with a normal startup. I really need help in this area. Thanks in advance =)

I, as you, decided that I dislike Windows Vista and was trying a downgrade on a Vaio VGN-n365e laptop. To my distress I realized that because this laptop was designed primarily for Windows Vista, no XP Drivers were available with XP for the model! So even if you can install XP, most things will not work correctly. I did make XP work, but things like the touch pad, keyboard, SD port, etc do not function correctly without proper drivers...which aren't available. I had to revert back to Vista. This situation may change, but for now a Vaio VGN-n365e laptop is unable to downgrade.
