Has anyone ever had a problem or know a fix for cooling fan issues on this model laptop? The system overheats and freezes. The primary fan continuously runs, but the secondary fan won't come on when needed.I have replaced the fan unit(comes with both fans). The fan came on for a couple of weeks and the system worked fine. Then started freezing up again.I noticed the fan stopped working. When the system boots up the fan turns on low for about 3 seconds like running a self chk.
Performed a system restore to a point about a week earlier and the fans worked as designed until the laptop was shut off-then wouldn't work the next time.I performed a total restore with the OE restore disk and fan only runs on low for 3 sec on boot up. I'm not running on a battery.I've tried unplugging and removing battery from mother board to reset bios with no luck.I can't find any updated drivers at the sony site either.
Sony online support wasn't a help.

Getting ready to put a pick thru the unit!

    Can anyone help???
