Has anyone installed Vista SP1 on Vaio FZ. I've installed updated drivers from Sony, but everytime I check for update on Sony it says the update has been downloaded but not installed. Anyone got a similar message?

Weird i didn't have any problems installing SP1. What are you checking on sony's site? Are you talking about windows update or sony update?

My SP1 windows update was smooth and relatively quick.

    No slow down, no problems.

Followed the instructions that came with the windows update and do have all current drivers.

I'm talking about sony update, it shows sigmatel audio driver, and other software updates. it says the update has been downloded but not installed.
I checked windows update and its showing vista SP1, so does it mean that windows didn't find any compatibility issues and its OK to install SP1.

I have had similar issues with sony downloads. Some posters recommend downloading from the manufacturer's website as opposed to sony. You can check the driver update status through your device manager. If, they show up-to-date, you should be OK for SP1.

You cannot install audio device driver (IDT) from their website.
