Hi all. I keep getting blue screen shutdowns and each time when the computer reboots the automatic problem solver tells me it is being caused by my anti-virus software but cannot be more specific. Is there an issue with Kaspersky 8.0 running under Vista Business? My computer is a VGN-FZ440N. Someone on another board suggested turning off Defender but that didn't solve the problem. I can't find any other anti-virus software running so I am out of ideas.

what do your system logs say? is there any event just before the crash that might tell you more?

How about just upgrading to Kaspersky 9?
I never try Kaspersky 8, but when I use Kaspersky 7 with Vista, it came with some problems...and after I upgraded to 9 most of the problems gone... -

Thanks for the links. I have Kaspersky 2009 (v. 8.0.0.454) and everything I have read on these links indicates it should work better than 7.0 did. I contacted Kaspersky Tech Support and will wait and see what they have to say. Sony tech support told me to uninstall Kaspersky and get a different AV software...
