Hello,
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ483N with Windows Vista Business Edition SP1. For some reason, everytime i first boot up my laptop Vista will automatically restart with no error messages whatsoever. I disabled the automatic restart option in vista and the same thing happens. However, once it's done the initial restart everything works normally and therefore i dont think it has anything to do with over-heating. I used to have windows xp pro sp3 and this did not happen. anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Either its a hardware conflict or it's your power supply or it's your o.s. I would try formatting the hard drive.

It sounds like a hardware issue to me. Does it do this on battery and plugged in?
-
yeah, it restarts whether its plugged in or running on batteries.

this was a fresh install of vista.
