    Hi
I have a Sony Vaio SZ61 XN running windows Vista Business (swedish). I was hoping SP1 would be availabale for this machine by now, have been looking around and asking sony support for some time now.

I am running automatic updates but still SP1 does not show up there. I tried some months ago to download the SP1 and installed it manually. First it would not install at all, reverting back to pre-SP1 without any proper error messages. I found out it was due to the sigmatel driver. I uninstalled the sigmatel utility from add/remove programs and now the SP1 installed, only to give me a black screen with only the cursor showing.

I then manage to revert back to pre-SP1 and have not tried again since. Sony support told me SP1 would be available in June through windows update. But still I don't get it.

I have no hidden updates and I have installed all the required pre-sp1 updates (i think). The sigmatel utility is removed from the system, now I really dont know what else to try.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    /Fredrik

    Hm, strange.

I've got a still new SZ71VN/X, and am running Vista Business as well.

On this machine I didn't get SP1 via Windows Update but had to download it manually too (End of June/beginning July) , however I haven't got any problems with it.

Try updating all you drivers and then installing SP1, this may work.

    All the best.

    Hi
After I manually removed the sigmatel driver and rebooted the computer, SP1 became available from windows update.
