Hey Everyone! I got a final RTM copy of Vista Ultimate running on my SZ360 and almost everything is working great.

However, I have a Sceptre X22WG-Gamer 22" LCD with a native resolution of 1680x1050 and its hooked up to the DVI port on my replicator. I can't for the life of me get Vista or the NVIDIA card to recognize the monitor or the resolution. It only lets me choose 1600x1200 or 1920x1080 and neither looks good at all. With my XP setup, it worked fine and the Sceptre was recognized perfectly. In fact, I can't even find my NVIDIA control panel anymore in Vista! Does that not install properly in Vista yet?

Do I need an updated driver from Sceptre or is this an NVIDIA or Vista issue?

Any and all suggestions or info is truly appreciated as this is the last thing that is bugging the heck out of me right now!

    Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a Vista issue that still needs to be worked out. Are you unable to make custom resolution settings in Vista?

Not sure if you can make custom resolution settings... I will Google for it though.

Anyone else have any thoughts? Does anyone else have access to the NVIDIA Control panel on their SZ for the 7400 Geforce?

But you do know how to do it in XP though, right? (Just checking)

UPDATE: I went to Costco to pick with a Viewsonic 22" VX2235 with the same specs and native resolution as my Sceptre and I was able to get the Viewsonic to work at the 1680x1050 resolution although Vista and the Nivida drivers still wont recognize the monitor as Viewsonic, just as generic. Also, I have to use it as an extended Desktop as well.

In addition, when I undock my SZ360, it doesnt automatically revert to the Notebook display like it did under XP. Right now Im thinking this has to do with the fact we dont have the latest drivers for the 7400 from Sony yet. As of now I like Vista but find the external display and resolution changing, etc, to be inferior to that under XP (for now at least). Just my opinion.

Keep in mind though, that XP has had years to mature and develop a strong driver support base. Vista is still in its infancy stages right now. It will be a while before everything is covered the way XP is today.

Personally, I would wait until SP1 is released before installing Vista.

sony hasn't yet provided drivers for the video card for vista but if u go to the nvidia site ( video card manufacturers web site ) they do have drivers for the the card for vista operating system, just download them and install. It worked for me but mine is a sz160p with the same graphic card.

caio have fun let me know if it worked for u.

Well looking at the dates I think this information may be a little late:

I use a Targus Port Replicator; Update you BIOS before Installing Drivers and get the most upto date Drivers too.

I can get them to recongise each other now, however I cannot get my Nvidia Control panel working when I have my View Sonic Pluged into either the Port Replicator or the external Plug for a second monitor. If I try use my Nvidia Control Panel my screens flicker uncontrolably for about 30 sec then vista shuts down the control panel.

This is the stage I'm at currently so weather there is a hardware/software conflict between Vista and the Port Replicator or my Viewsonic and Nvidia or the 10 other combinations that resault is what I have to work out...
