Is anyone running the latest Vista build 5536 on their SZ series notebook? It's not the RC1 version but supposedly the build just before it. I'm wondering if the nvidia 7400 video card running Aero glass and other previous Vista build issues are resolved like not being able to control display brightness.

I've got 5536 on my SZ1VP - no joy with the power management, fingerprint reader or brightness controls - basically the same experience wrt these drivers/apps as 5472 :(

Isn't it posible to manually control display brightness through advanced display settings in control panel? At least when using Intel graphics it seems like thats possible.
Also if I were to decide to upgrade from XP to Vista and don't like it can I just use the recovery discs I burned to go back to the original software install or would I have to first reformat?

Does the stamina and speed modes work? What about Bluetooth - are there drivers yet?

Both Speed and Stamina work for me. I can't get the brightness control to work for either as the software won't work. I can however change the brightness in XP, reboot to Vista and this time it keeps it as it was previouly set.

    haven't tried bluetooth

Sure, you can use the recovery disks or do a clean install if you want to go back to XP.

Is there a driver for the Nvidia 7400 video card that will enable Aero? I got it working with the Intel integrated graphics but not the 7400.

I've had no problem running the Aero interface.
