    Got my new Vaio FW:

I thought Sony Recovery would make ISO backups of Vista, but it didn't: it made it's own format of a recovery disc (2 of them, too).

This is retarded. Where can I get a legal backup of Vista that I can use for a fresh install or vLite install? (without having to pay).

    Please Help.

There is no way to get a "legal backup" without paying for it.

Your choices are a semi clean install using the images you just created or borrowing a copy of Vista from a friend and using the license key from the bottom of your machine.

No install disc? That's horrible. What are we paying for, a commercially-bloated license?

Do you have a friend with a Vista DVD? Pretty much any Vista (32bit) DVD will work.

There was an option to order the Sony machines without all the bloat ware. But even then, you get no install disk only a recovery partition and the ability to create recovery dvd's. This is pretty common among many manufacturers not just Sony.
