    Hi

I recently installed my Vista Ultimate on my SZ2. It works well so far. I only have a few issues I hope you can help me with.

1.) If I install the Alps touchpad driver, the touchpad is lost completely. I cannot use it anymore. I need to plug in a mouse and remove the driver goeing back to the PS2 driver. Then the pad becomes operational again.

2.) In Speed mode (NV7400Go with Forceware 100.40) I cant control the brightness. It stays at the highest level. FN-F5 and FN-F6 show the brightness popup but cant change it. It works well with the Intel GMA though. Also with the NV7400Go there is no brightness control in the mobility center like mentioned here from time to time.

3.) The camera works well from within the Sony tools but Vista does not see it as a cam under Scanner/Camera and you cannot use it to aquire an image.

Those two are the main concerns atm. Everything else works very well. Any ideas???

Ok but the NVidia drivers from Sony are MUCH slower. The 100.40 is nearly as fast as the best XP drivers. The older ones from Sony work, but they are VERY unoptimzed and slow.

Reminds me of a great analogy for PC's and Cars...

Good, Fast, Cheap... Pick any 2...

A good and fast PC (or substitute car) is not cheap. A cheap and fast PC is not going to be good. Finally a good, cheap (whatever here) will not be fast...

Maybe the same can now be said of the nVidia drivers... even though they are free...
