    hi all,

If i left my laptop in sleep mode, would it be safe to carry it around my bag? i mean should it be treated any differently from a laptop which is completely shut down?

From what i've read the hd doesn't spin in sleep mode and only the ram is switched on.

    thx.

Yes, its completely safe to carry like that. Just keep in mind that it still uses some battery power in sleep mode, so if your planning on keeping it "off" for more than 2 hours, I would hibernate it instead.

About your battery consumption in sleep mode:
Its (on mine) about 5% per hour.

And yes, I can just say the same again, it is safe to carry around in sleep mode.
