    hi there
    i am about to move to canada from ireland for one year and want to bring my sony vaio laptop (VGN CR21/L) with me.....does anyone know if i'll need to bring a voltage converter with me or if i can just plug into the plug adapter and go?

    any advise would be appreciated!

    All adapters should be able to transform 110-240V / 50-60Hz of AC electricity to the correct DC voltage that is needed for the laptop. There should some description to that effect on the adapter itself. Canada's mains power supply is 110-127V/60Hz while Ireland's is 220-240V/50Hz.

    The only thing that's different is the plug that you're going to use to connect the adapter to the wall socket; Canada's and Ireland's wall sockets are shaped differently.
