    I have a VAIO CW
    Advantages :
Card graphic (GT230), Resident Evil 5 works fine
    CPU (P8700, VT -Virtualization Technology-)
    HD (500Go)
    Blue-ray burner
    Design and color (White)
    Touchpad (Big and "multitouch")

    Disadvantages :
Screen color (black are dark gray, but color are more colored)
    Screen glossy
    Autonomy : up to 2h30
    Speaker : no bass
There are no Pageup/Pagedown/Begin/End key (it's a FN combination key)
Fan speed : He still running on idle, im waiting a BIOS upgrade.

You can get the SR series with an ATI 4570, if the intel isn't fast enough. The 4570 isn't as fast as the CW's 230, but it is still a very good card.

The black color is dark gray, and the others colors, more colored than other Laptop no LED (i have an other VAIO FS315M technology XBlack to compare).
    You can check this link.
It's major default of LED Screen, i recommend to see a real screen to the boutique and check the viewing angles, so you could have a real opinion of LED screen.

The VAIO SR has a 13.3" screen and the price is more important. He's also a DEL screen, so same remark about screen color, you have to see really to have your own opinion.

Sony builds in a 14 inch display that has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Thus, the LED backlit screen has an aspect ratio of 16:9. DVDs are shown in full screen, games have a better overview but web sites and text documents lack height so that you have to scroll more frequently. what does "but web sites and text documents lack height so that you have to scroll more frequently" mean?

That mean, you have a 16:9 screen, so the height = 1366/(16/9)
Generally, screen has a ratio 16:10, so a superior height.

About scrolling, the sony vaio CW use a new process with touchpad, you have to do a round with your finger to the right for down scrolling, and to the left for up scrolling. It's very useful.

    Check this presentation (near 6'12")

With the silky surface of the CW's touchpad, just install the modded multitouch drivers for synaptics touchpads, and right now I have multitouch scrolling that VERY closely mimics my 13" MacBook Pro. The touchpad on the CW is quite possibly the best I've found since my Apple.

If you've ever used a mac with the multitouch trackpad, they are amazing. Put two fingers on the trackpad (anywhere on the trackpad, not just the edge) and move them up/down and it scrolls web pages up and down. When on a web page in Firefox and a 2-finger swipe to the left takes you back a page, and a 2-finger swipe to the right moves foward a page... makes for very efficient web browsing! But all that you have to do is download the modded drivers from the link I'll provide below, then after installation and a reboot, go to the other link i'm about to provide and download and install "2 finger scroll". IMO, i've disabled the pinch to zoom feature and most other multitouch features on the synaptics control panel, and just left it with the very basic "detect 2 fingertips" option checked. Then when the "2 Finger Scroll" is running, it provides all of the multitouch gestures that I use. Matter of fact, I'm fixing to make a new thread with instructions.

    Instructions here...
