I'm hoping (begging) for some help!!!

My Sony VGN-S260P WLAN wireless won't turn on.

The switch itself still "clicks" so I think the switch works, but the WLAN light on the laptop will not illuminate.

The card inside is an Intel Pro Wireless 2200BG. When I run the diagnostic it reports that the hardware is fine but the RADIO is off and it tells me to switch it on. I do but nothing happens.

I noticed that there are 2 wires connected to the card opposite the long pin connector - are these wires the physical on off power, or are they the antenna leads? I thought about cutting them and joining them to see if that bypasses the switch, then I can just turn the card off and on with the intel wireless utility.

Do I need to replace the switch on the motherboard? Anyway to test/troubleshoot this problem?

Anyone else have this issue and discover a solution?

    Thanks for any ideas.
