I'm curious if anyone has a solution to this problem, so far the best i could find was...

    http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-006205.htm

Not sure if this is a Intel problem, Vista problem, or Netgear problem....

    Here is my info

    Laptop: Sony Vaio VGN-C220E
Wireless card: IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless Network Connection
Router: NETGEAR RANGE MAX WPN824 V.2

Basically I can see the network, but it won't connect at all. My other laptop, which runs xp, is working fine on the wireless network, so I think that the network is running correctly. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before and maybe knows how to fix it, or should I just go get a different router. Thanks in advance. Mark

    Maybe MAC filtering is on
Log onto your router by typing 192.168.1.1 into your web browser, i'm not sure what the default password is but check the manual. i think the password is admin. You can check the settings in there

Don't see anything about MAC filtering.
Using WEP key encryption; when I try to connect it just almost instantly says that there was a problem and to diagnose it, which doesn't help anything.

    I'm thinking it's a NetGear/Vista issue.

Is it not associating with the router (wirelessly connected) or is it not getting a valid ip from the router?

Does your router support the Vista wireless power saving feature?

Did you install the new driver from Intel or use the one from the Sony web site? If you installed the new driver from Intel, that could be the source of your problem. Try to roll back your driver to the one that is on the Sony site.
