Hello,
I have a question for you all, is $1000 off the original price of a 4 month old notebook to good to be true? The sony VAIO I just inspected today was 4 months old (as the receipt stated) and was in ok condition. The gentleman (in his late 40's) stated that he had never used it but upon opening and starting up the notebook a black screen popped up stating that windows had lost some software since its last startup (or something along the lines of this), the black screen that gave me 3 options, one of which was to start up the windows again!. So i did and it seemed to run "ok" but there was something a little strange, there was no microsoft office!? is this an option to have on the Sony SZ's??.
Also I noticed something with the screen lid, it was bent more on the left hand, like it was warped by the sun, is this normal? I remeber seeing something similar in the sony store but nothing as drastic as this screen was, mind you it worked perfectly and is still under warranty.
anyway, would you buy this notebook? its really a good price, roughly $1500 US for an SZ aint bad at all. but will the warranty that he has cross over to me? and has anyone seen screen lid flex that sounds like this before?!?!

microsoft office is a default windows program, you get a 30 day trial with new computers. by the sound of it, it's obvious that the computer was used by someone, the black screen might mean he turned it on and turned it off pressing the power button instead of going through the regular shut down. i just saw a sz450(two months old) with 2 year on site accidental protection and a dock sell for 1450.00. i would suggest looking on ebay first.

I was planning to, but now I'm going for a 650 instead. Good luck on your buy.
WTB second hand SZ 450, what do you think?
