    Hi,

Essentially, I'm tearing my hair out.

Vaio Smart Connect won't install. Windows 8 won't detect the Gobi module.

I have inserted the sim card and searched every forum for some hint. This seems to be the most comprehensive community, but it is hard to search the threads.

Can anyone lend their experience of getting Windows 8 to detect WWAN?

    Thanks,

    Rayhan

If you had you wwan turned off in win 7, then no go... basically you need to restore to factory default (win 7) enable wwan (and wifi and bt) there, then install win8. At least this is the case with my vaio z3.
