I've settled on getting a custom VAIO F series in Canada but want to get the most for my $ whether in discounts, promos or buying at a potential series refresh- so I have a couple of questions:

    1) Right now there's a usable $100 off promo code for sony.ca. After some research I've noticed at other times there's been a $200 off promo code + free PS3 as well. How often and when (typically) does the steeper discount happen throughout the year?

    2) Ivy Bridge is coming out soon and while that in and of itself isn't terribly important to me I'm wondering if the VAIO lines will get spec/tech bumps in other areas (GPU) when the new processors are introduced?

Unless you absolutely need it now, I would recommend waiting. It's not like back in December when waiting 4+ months was required -

only about a 2 month wait to go, for a brand new tech, or clearance of the old tech, which could benefit you either price-wise or tech-wise. ( your pick )

Thank you, and no I don't absolutely need it now. This is what I needed to know, a timeline, I don't follow Sony or laptops in general too closely when I'm not in the market for one. So having an idea on what's coming or a vague timeframe makes my decision easier. I will wait, thanks again.
