    I have a Sony Vaio Z VGN-Z520N.

I recently purchased a docking station for the Vaio, and noticed that sony doesn't even supply an extra ac adapter with their docking station even after charging $200 for it (i bought it on ebay for $150).

Now since my AC adapter has gone towards the docking station, I need an extra one to keep in my backpack and carry around.

Can anyone recommend an AC adapter that doesn't cost an arm and a leg from the Sony site.

I don't mind purchasing one on ebay, but I noticed all the ones they are selling are generic brands. Are they safe to use?

I'm willing to spend up to $40.

Have you checked the SONY Outlet store.Perhaps there is something there.
I would not buy any generic brand (my point of view)

I personally would not even use a 3rd party adapter with a docking station :D

    cheers ...

Not bad for a "good" used unit! Might want to invest a few extra bucks for the extended warranty.

    cheers ...
