Looking for recovery discs, I was doing some testing with Linux and wiped the system, but now I found my recovery disc was scratched up beyond recognition by my cat. So, HELP, does anyone have their recovery discs available and can help me out?

I think if you call Sony and tell them that you tried and tried to copy your recovery disks but everytime has failed... they'll send you a copy. OR... you could tell them what happened and hopefully they'll send you new ones. I think someone succeeded in getting Sony to send them a copy with the first excuse.

edit: or just get a Win 7 whatever disc(the same as the key on the bottom of your laptop) and reinstall windows and just enter your OEM key vs. a new one. And then download all the drivers and you wont have any crapware =)
