If your screen size is 15.4, then get 15.4 not 17. 17 is made for...you guessed it...17" laptops.

I'm a little confused. You're looking for a laptop sleeve to "warm" your laptop? or for protecting it while carrying it in your bag?

Computers don't usually suffer from over-cooling (unless the internal parts accumulate ice/frost on its surface in sub-zero temperatures for a long period of time).

    Utah isn't that cold.
Just any neoprene sleeve will be fine for protection but I would get something more rigid, especially if it's going to be in a backpack with other books and what not.

You can get a sleeve and put the sleeve with the notebook inside your jacket. But make sure to support it from the bottom.

Welcome to Finland.. I understand that's not relevant to the question but I dont mind lugging my comp around in -30 degrees celsius (-22 Fahrenheit). And should you still be afraid of it freezing leave it on when you put it into the bag.
