    Hello,
I've recently purchased the VPCZ12V9E/X. I'm in the UK and a bit confused about purchasing the warranty. Ideally, I want to buy a warranty which covers accidental damage. However, I can't find any such warranty in the UK Sony online store.

The warranty packs I have found which do cover accidental damage and theft are on: Amazon.co.uk, Play.com and various other websites.

My question is, if I purchase something like this:
Sony VAIO Insurance Pack 3 Years Cover Including Accidental Damage and Theft: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Will it be valid for my notebook?

    Thanks for any advice.

Yes, but you have to activate the warranty within 30 days of the purchase of the Vaio.

    Thanks for the info edwordsigh.

Does any one have an idea of why all these other warranty packs aren't available on the Sony store?

These Sony warranty packs are essentially the same, however they change the product model # from time to time, I'm guessing when they decide to change the price. But rest assured, it's still a Sony Warranty and it'll still work, just register it via eSupport and you're covered.

    edwordsigh,
Thanks for the info again. Warranty is on it's way :)

I have no idea about the international warranty, may be start a new thread? You may want to check with a local Sony centre whether they will honour the international warranty (No reason why they shouldn't but, best to be safe).

    Cheers
