Was a Z Series Quad core i7 made before Sony discontinued?

    If so:

    1. Was it MUCH better than i7 Dual Core Z?
    2. Where can I find one now? Any sites? foreign Sony or otherwise?
3.Any known issues? ie. heat, screen etc??

    Thanks in advance people.

I am looking to buy a used one or if there are still new ones somewhere - let me know?

    Thanks
    M

yes, the SVZ model Z has a i7-3612QM option. Review here: Sony Vaio Z Review (2012) - Notebook Reviews by MobileTechReview

    1) If the app you're using can use all four cores, then yes, it's a lot faster. If not, then no. Sandy bridge based dual core Z has a slightly higher boost clock, but Ivy is slightly faster on a clock per clock bases, so they're pretty much even in single core benchmarks. The HD4000 is also vastly superior to the HD3000.

    2) It's been discontinued for a while and is still in still in high demand, tough to find new. Sometimes Sony's outlet online has several for sale, but they go quickly. Tried ebay or amazon? sometimes ive seen used ones there.

    3) It's the perfect laptop, of course not :D
