I would like to know if there's a way to remove the liquid under my LCD screen (I've been googling FW screen disassembly for days - no results).

At first there was a big circle with a diameter of 3 inches. then after leaving it idle for about 3 or 4 days, the circle shrinked with a diameter of 2 cm. after that, I left the computer alone for another 4 days and that 2cm circle is still there. i turned the laptop and viewed the screen at a 45 angle and i see one normal drop of water and many small drops in that one area.

should i wait until it dries out? or should i disassemble the screen?

thank you for the suggestions :D

    - considering there's no air or anything in the LCD screen itself, i dont think the water will disappear anytime soon. possibly 2 or 4 months? lol =(

note: water came in contact with the SCREEN only, all other parts (keyboard, speakers, cpu, etc. are CLEAN)

That is a tough one. Have you tried hair dryer? However, it may still leave a mark when water dries up.

If you are brave enough to remove the screen, use medical alcohol to clean it once you get it open. Search here for diagrams of how to take the screen apart.

I think you should be able to reach him through the Forum -- send him a message (go to UserCP in the bar up at the top here and then click send a new message and enter SoundsGood).

Alternatively, he last posted on a Samsung thread 8-12-09 ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=5194751#post5194751) so if a message is bounced back through the forum mail, you could post something there.

    Good luck!

Just above where it says "Sonycomments go here" up above on this page, click UserCP on the blue-gray task bar. The new page which comes up will have a Control Panel just under where UserCP shows up again, with a series of links in a column. The category is Private Messages and the sublink is Send New Message. I believe it is possible, though, for a forum member to set to not receive private messages.

    Good luck!

I have removed my screen. Its not too hard. I replaced my bezel and screen lid. Had to transfer all the internal electronics which was quite tricky though.

Anyones FW screen get quite warm at the bottom where the SONY logo is, on the bezel?

It may. What was the SOURCE of the water. If it had any minerals in it it may leave behind a mark.

It should disappear in time but may kill the electronics.

Did you spill an entire bottle of water onto your screen?

I think you should get Sony to check it out if you plan to keep the notebook for a while to protect it from developing an electrical fault.

well i didn't spill that much. only spilled like 1/25 of the entire bottle.
too bad my warranty is over a month =(
everything is working well, its just the water is bothering me (even though its like barely there - size = 1/2 of a penny)
the color is correct throughout the screen - i guess its less likely to affect other electronic compartment.
