Hello, I have a notebook of Sony Vaio. The model number is VGN-TZ31WN. So first when our notebook was bought Web-Cam was working but as now it is not working. When I take VAIO Camera Capture Utility, The finder shows a blue screen with a Caption No input. I tried many sites but couldn't find, please help me. In Device Manager there is no Sony Visual Communication Driver installed. When I checked the Sony European site, there was a driver of Camera. I downloaded it but I couldn't find out how to install it.

Hello thank you for your reply but my Device Manager doesn't show the camera's driver, & i have mentioned it in the post. Under Imaging devices there is no Ricoh Camera or Sony Visual..... Or whatever. And I didn't understand how to install it well i will mention the photo.

If the camera stopped working on its own without any action on your part, it is probably dead due to a hardware failure and will need to be replaced. If, however, the laptop was dropped or bumped, then a connector might have come loose inside.

    Ok.
Now I clicked action and selected add legacy hardware. I selected 'Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (advanced)'. I selected 'show all devices'. And I clicked 'Have Disk' Button. I browsed it to the folder from where I extracted it and selected 'R5U870FL.inf. But it doesn't show anything to select. So I clicked the Have Disk' button again and again I browsed it to the folder but this time I right-clicked the inf file and selected install. So a pop up came saying:

    Install Error

The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation.

So i clicked the close button
now what should i do now? how should install it another way ?
    Please reply me fast

Try uninstalling and disconnecting the Xerox WorkCenter Pro Scanner and rebooting and then see if the camera comes up in Device Manager.

    Hihi.
I am in Kerala in India and from my calculation it would just take more than 5 days to reach there. I think that if you just send me how do you fix (methods) @
    [email protected]

it would be easier. Or else I was thinking to change the Operating System from the Sony Center. So I will just ask them, sigh...

These things only Happen to me.

Well thank You guys. I think its time that I buy a new laptop.

GUD JOB I will appreciate your business . I will come back later if I have any problems with my PC or the laptop.

    Thanks Agains guys...

Is the camera that important to you that you are willing to throw away an otherwise working laptop? At least ask Sony about a replacement camera and see if it is affordable. Or get an external camera that clips on to the top of your screen.

K well this is a shot in the dark, but it happened to me so I suppose it could happen to someone else:

I was messing around in the bios once on my vaio VPCF22 and turned on "boot external devices" and suddenly my camera stopped working, nothing was showing up in device manager etc. After hours of trying different things, finally went back into the bios, turned off that setting, and viola it was working again.

    Good luck
