On my Vaio TZ150N, after installing Winows 7, everything works, except the built-in WebCam. I have tried re-installing the drivers from both Sony and Ricoh, but no use so far.

Any ideas how I can repiar this?

I didnt think you could be right, but you were. I uninstalled Sony program, and driver, and Windows 7 set it up automatically, it now works.
    Thank you

hi. i just purchased a vaio sz650n w/ a webcam. how are you able to test it to make sure its working? if i go to msn messenger (actions > video > show my webcam)...it wants me to connect to a buddy but i dont have a buddy on here w/ a webcam. how do i test to make sure this feature works? the vaio camera utility on it says "no input" on vista x64 clean install.

yes, i would uninstall the driver from device manager and restart pc. it should go back to "usb video" under imaging devices after restart. check out this post #68 http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=222729&page=7 for guidance. it seems you have the vcc6 camera driver but i use vcc7 driver for my webcam so we will have to find you one to try out. do you have vista x64?

I have the VGN-CR520D model and i installed windows7 64x and the camera and other devices didn t work so i read what people said about their problems. So i tried to uninstall usb imaging device's drivers and restart: windows installs a software but it doesn t solve the problem and installing the driver from sony says that it s not compatible with this os. should i disassemble the driver to install it or is there sony drivers elsewhere?? is there another solution?

I have the same problem with my laptop VGN-TZ150n & the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits!

Could you please tell me exactly which softwares of the motion eye camera you uninstalled, please. I only unistalled the webcam companion 2 and the ArcSoft Magic-i visual effects 2, and still it wont work, my win 7 ultimate 64 bit, probably does not have the software you were told that would replace the needed software for the camera to work!!!

    Please help. Thanks

For the camera to work, you need to install the camera driver (Sony doesn't have a 64-bit driver for your Ricoh camera).

Any chat client like Skype won't see the camera without the proper driver installed. The default Windows 7 driver for USB video device is not compatible with certain Ricoh webcams.
