Hi, I have a Sony Vaio VPCS117GG. The webcam had been working fine all this time, and suddenly, I just realized it's stopped getting detected when I tried video calling someone on Skype? What may be the cause of it? Do I need to update the driver? Any hardware issue?

If it's something to do with drivers, can someone link me or guide me as to how to update it/restart it etc. :(

    Thanks,

Instead of a bump you should ask this question in the S series owners lounge. :)

I would suggest removing the webcam driver and installing a newer driver (if available) or just reinstall the same driver.

My cousin had this problem on his new VPCCA series... he did a factory reset from the recovery partition and it worked so you can try that if everything else fails.
