I just recently ran VAIO Care and did the system tuneup (disk cleaner/defrag) and now firefox does not load pages properly. I also tried reinstalling firefox. I tested Internet Explorer and it works fine.

Anybody know how I can fix this?

    Revert to an earlier snapshot?

You've learned a valuable lesson: A vendor's tools are never to be trusted. They presume that the machine will be exactly as it was when it left the factory, or with the vendor's own patches only installed. No personalizations, no extra or replacement software, or other changes.

What exactly do you mean by "does not load pages properly"? Does FF load pages, but the formatting is incorrect; or there are missing images/elements; or the pages just don't load at all?

Without much information the best guess I have is that VAIO Care removed some important files in your FF user profile (which is neither removed nor "fixed" by simply reinstalling FF).

If you have no need for anything in your FF user profile (bookmarks, history, preferences, extensions, etc), you can easily delete it and make a new one by following the instructions here:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+Profiles

If you would like to recover your user profile, you may try using System Restore to recover to a checkpoint before you applied VAIO Care; then install an extension like FEBE and backup your user profile to a separate location. Finally, re-apply VAIO Care, and then load your saved user profile if necessary.

You may also need to check some registry entries if problems persist; a quick search on Google should yield no shortage of tips. And it should go without saying that you've double-checked necessary firewall exceptions and the like.

The pages do load and formatting/images/elements do not appear. Most pages did load and the pages I tested and didn't work were facebook and nbr's homepages. I will try the tips you guys gave me when I get home from work.

    Thanks guys.

So clearing my cache fixed the issue. Does anybody know what in particular caused this? Should I never run the VAIO care utilities?
