My plan was to clean swipe the main partition with a seperate Windows XP CD, install the drivers, etc.

I hit F8, saw the main partition, put XP on it, it took me through the Xp set up promts, everything looked fine. On restart the viewable screen is less than half of the display, I'm not having much luck installing drivers, I keep getting "lanquage unknown" errors.

What do I need to do?

Alright, I'm at least partially retarded. The screen issue was just resolution settings. Still having trouble on the drivers though.

I assume you are trying to install drivers from recovery CDs/DVD. The driver/application installer needs the Sony shared library to run. The Sony shared library should be on your recovery CDs/DVD, named something like SOASSL-xxxxx.EXE. If not, you can download it from Sony on another computer.
