Those models equipped with 1.83 GHz Merom 2M cache seem not worth buying?

It's really all about cosmetic design.
If you're shelling out more than a thousand dollars to buy a nice notebook,
might as well go all the way, am I right?

    Try the 350 and 360.

I disagree when it comes to the cosmetic design
When I bought my sz230 it was so very tempting to go with the sz260 for the design.WHAT CHANGED MY MIND.The 260 screen was so thin when opening the screen flex was to much with the ripple....kind of like cheap not forgeting the 230 had a faster dvd drive.
I exchanged my 230 upgrading to the 330 yesterday at compusa and the same was true with the 350-very flimsy screen. biumoc it really comes down to what you feel comfe with.I had to go with the 330 for the solid build.

Please give a link where the SZ360 has 4M cache; don't see it.

The following indicators are quoted from Intel:
    T7600 4 MB L2 2.33 GHz 667 MHz
    T7400 4 MB L2 2.16 GHz 667 MHz
    T7200 4 MB L2 2 GHz 667 MHz
    T5600 2 MB L2 1.83 GHz 667 MHz
    T5500 2 MB L2 1.66 GHz 667 MHz
The SZ360 is equipped with T7200????

    Yes, that's right.
But I am still wondering whether to order SZ3xx or SZ2xx. The reason is the main advantage of Merom (in SZ3xx) over its predecessor (SZ2xx) is supporting 64-Bit, which most of us probably may not be capable of exploiting in the next 3 years.

If the prices are almost the same, at least within $100 I would go SZ3xx but if you can get a considerably lower price with the SZ2xx maybe the better choice. You are not giving any prices or mentioning any deals you may have found.

Sony1. How much grief did you get from CompUSA over your exchange and upgrade. I purchased a VGN-SZ260P three weeks ago that has been back to Sony for the last week and a half being repaired with a battery and motherboard issue. When it returns from Sony can I bring to to CompUSA in the box and talk them into an upgrade, paying the diff, of course?

As long as you dont let compusa know that you have sent it to sony for service you should be fine .Compusa seemed to be very cool on the upgrade :) Good luck
