    People have already named many programs, discussed their preferences, likes, dislikes of each of the programs. Including a fine link you were given that outlined differences, recommendations etc.

    And you follow all that with "uninstall and...then what?". Sorry but it just shows that you are not paying any attention to what anyone on this thread is saying. Agree or disagree is all fine. But don't waste our time.

    That is actually a really good article.
    This is what I have running on about 300 machines in my metro area with very good results for years (nothing is 100%).



    I only disagree with the firewall portion. Here is why...
    A software firewall is only as good as operating system it runs on. Which means it can still be vulnerable. A hardware firewall, which ironically is built into almost every router and modem is FAR better. Another issue I take is that firewalls prevent viruses. They don't. Well okay, in some rare instances, yes, but in general firewalls are the biggest lie consumers have been told in terms of computer malware security. If you have only one computer on your network, a firewall is utterly useless. If your modem or router firewall didn't stop something, odds are your computers firewall will do nothing as well.
