Since I only see the pictures of them, so I can not make a decision which one is looked better when considering both beautiful and durable.

I am male, so I prefer to darker color.
I want to make a choice between Night Black and Titanium Gray.

    Question:

    1. Does anybody have owned, or have made a comparison them side by side?

    2. whether the SR is easier to be scratched?

    3. please see specification below, the price will be $1,255.49 after $200 instant saving and $94.5 student program saving, whether it worths the money, how about the performance does it?

    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor P8400 (2.26GHz, 3MB L2 Cache)

I'll move this to the Sony forum. I think you'll get more response there.

I personally prefer black but I've never seen it. I've only seen silver and it looks really good.

I too have only seen the SR in silver. I'm not sure that I have a preference on the colors, but the black does look pretty slick in the photos on Sonystyle.com. FWIW, my wife is dead set on getting a pink SR (we're ordering it later this week). I'm not sure what's going on as she's never been a big fan of the color. I guess the laptop and pink mouse (to match the laptop naturally) will go well with the pink cover of her ipod Touch?

Black is a pretty good color, but I find that Silver usually shows the best over time. Scratchs, scuff marks, don't show up as much on Silver than they do on other colors I think.

The black looks very slick(i own one). I've heard that the lighter colors tend to look cheaper and give it a somewhat flimsy look...although i feel that the lighter coloring of the vaio Z also does that. The black SR justs looks sleek and sturdy... but in terms of build quality, obviously all the SR's are identical. They now have the silver SR with the black keyboard...which is pretty cool....

I saw one a few days ago, didn't like it. I associate dark grey to the old dell inspiron laptops from back in the day, thats why i dont like it.

Black is the way to go.

it's is glossy on the lid, which i don't particulary like. but the keyboard surface looks great since it is matte silver and feels luxurious to the touch. the only gripe i have about mine is that the keys are white.

I had the glossy platinum silver SR190 and just returned it for a Titanium SR290 as the HDMI is something I felt the need for rather more.

My impressions were- glossy silver - not worth the premium. It looked nice, but I hated that it cost extra, and I was concerned about how well the shiny finish would hold up after being slid in out of sleeves. The keys were a light colour, which matched the case well, but I did wonder how they'd look once they'd be used a bit and got grubby (thinking about how ugly light coloured beige keys used to get). If it were a free option, I'd be less down on it, but paying more for a finish that appears like it will be less durable didn't gel well with me.

Titanium Grey. Love the colour and it looks the part on the Vaio, especially with the silver lettering. They keys on this model are black. I'm not convinced they look quite as together as the lighter coloured keys on the silver machine (the keyboard surround is silver like on the platinum silver), but I think they'll hold up and look better for longer. Best of all it was free.

I think the black machine looks great too fwiw

    Simon.

I'm ordering a SR290 CTO but currently I have to choose platinum silver (cuz I really want the Ati graphics)

I love the professional black but now Sony upsets me a lot :(

Anyway, anyone has pictures (real ones are most desirable) of the platinum silver SR290?

    Thanks in advance!!!

I just got mine a few days ago and I too was deprived of the black color. I ended up going with the Titanium Gray. It's a nice color and I am content with it but I still really wanted the black. So badly that I'm ordering the part separately from a parts store so I can replace it myself :D.

I think they all look very nice, but the Titanium is my favorite followed by the Black. I'd say the Silver is my least fave, but I think it's still pretty nice looking. The SR is a really beautifully designed laptop.
