I bought a 'new' Sony VPCS1 Series today. When I came home and looked at the box, it seemed loose and there was only what white label with Sony printed on it repeatedly and it was not over the box opening where you stick your fingers to pull cardboard out. It was to the left of it. How is the laptop box supposed to appear new off the shelf? Also, the screen did not have a protection clear sheet on it which seemed odd. Do the new laptop have that plastic covering on the screen?

The part where you stick your finger in to open the box look like it had a slight bent in it, like it was opened before but it wasn't torn. I had a bit of a hassle during the sale and wanted to make sure I didn't get sold a returned product or opened product instead of NEW off the shelf laptop.

How is the laptop packaged when sent by Sony?

    Thank you for any help.

There won't be a protection skin on the screen. There might be a foam piece that fits between the screen and the keyboard. But if that's not there I still wouldn't fret.

Nothing you mentioned seemed like a red flag to me.
