What games are people running SUCCESSFULLY on their SZ's? I have the SZ3 with the 7400 128mb graphics, running WinXP. Just wondering what games (if any) I'll be able to run?

I play nfs carbon with 1280x800 patch custom video advance setting and fear combat with 1024x768 at low setting, it runs so well and speedy.
you can check the following website to see what game you can play with the geforce go 7400 card, say like 96% of the game are supported, it's better when you have 2gb ram.

Correction: The Sony VAIO SZ only has 64 MB of dedicated ram not 128 MB of ram.

What is this 'patch' you refer to, because NFS Carbon says it won't run on that site, so have you done something to enable it to work?

True. it's only 64Mb base GPU memory. 255 shared totalling 319Mb so most games requiring 128Mb plus are fooled by the "turbo cache" or share memory.

Anyway, I just finished Prince of Persia the Two Thrones the last of the Price of Persia trilogy with heavy use of pixel shaders and animation. Works flawlessly with GeForce Go7400 on my unit. :)

Half-life 2 runs well for me on high settings, 4x aniso, 0xAA and 1280x800. Episode 1 slows down a bit so I usually turn off anisotropic filtering and HDR.

Since the last week i've also Call of Duty 2 installed and it's good to be played on the sz. I've set the Textures to normal and didn't use AA so it's o.k.! :D

I'm playing in 1280 x 800 and everything is fine. Sure, sometimes it's a bit slowly but im very happy about the 7400 go for this game! :D

Oblivion on 1280x800 and 1680x1050 (on external LCD connected to docking station DVI)
Total Commander : actually the demo which I assume taxes the graphics chip the same way. Played on laptop screen with excellent performance and on the external screen with adequate performance (a little lag).

Note: I made sure to close all programs, sidebar and such then switch to used high performance power setting.

Which settings do you use? And why it's important to switch to high performance mode? I've always VAIO optimized setting in use...

Does anybody play Pro Evolution Soccer 6? I have SZ320P, and I almost can't play it.. Fullscreen or windowed (even 800x600) doesn't matter, lot of lags and low fps.. :(

Counterstrike: Source - beautifully on full settings.

    Half-Life 2: Episode 1.
    Choppy (unplayable) on Full settings
Beautiful on Medium Texture setting, max rez.

    BF2152
Smooth on low settings - definitely playable, but not exactly eye candy.
Extreme Choppy (unplayable) on Full settings
