    Hi

Im seriously thinking about buying this
laptop, im a moderate gamer and plan to use it
as a desktop replacement below is a list of its
basic specifications what do you all think?

    Sony Vaio VGN-AR31M

CPU: Intel core 2 duo T5600 (1.83 GHz)
RAM: 2GB DDR II SDRAM - 667 MHz
Graphics: Nvidia geforce go7600 (128mb VRAM)
    Harddrive: 160GB - Serial ATA-150 - 4200 rpm
    Display: 17" TFT active matrix 1440x900 (WXGA+)
    OS: Windows vista premium

Im affraid that im not very knowledgeable when it
comes to pc games and there compatibility with
pc's, so could anyone possible tell me what kind of
games can be played on this machine and what
kind of games cannot be played?

    Thankyou

Well really any game could be played on this machine, you could play modern games with low-medium quality (some highish) and older games at high/ultra quality.

I would also advise if possible getting a 5400 RPM or 7200 RPM drive instead of the 4200 RPM one.

Im having second thoughts about getting the
sony AR31M as its looking like you just dont
get value for money, now ive found another
laptop that appears to have much better specs
and is only a little bit more expensive.

    ASUS G1-AK005C

CPU: Intel core 2 duo T7200 (2.0 GHZ)
RAM: 2GB (installed) DDR II SDRAM - 667 MHz
    Harddrive: 160GB - Serial ATA-150 - 5400 RPM
Graphics: Nvidia geforce go7700 (512mb VRAM)
    Display: 15.4" TFT 1680x1050 (WSXGA+)
    OS: Windows vista premium

    What do you think?

    i would go with G1
but i myself own an ar270p
    as far as i know
it run test drive unlimited(1600*1200 medium with anything else all max)
    rainbox 6 vegas(1024*768 medium)
    both run flawlessly
but please note that mine is 7600GT not 7600
