I've been researching for a while and I noticed that just couple months ago, Sony used to offer GT330M for its discrete graphics card. Now, it's a Geforce 310M. I want to buy the 330M version.

It's usually limited to the retail pre-config models in the US.
-
I think only the Best Buy model had the 330 and only in the US.
-
Wait, so Sony DIDN'T discontinue the model with GT330M?

It is not avialable in NZ through Sony directly either, some retail stores have ordered in the newer models. It just seems so strange how large companys don't sell goods in certain places.
-
It's not in US Sony store either. It's found in several retail stores but they're all "sold out".
-
-
Yeah, does anyone know if its going to be in stock any time soon?
-
Anyone??? I've been waiting for weeks already and I still can't find this model.
-
It's been discontinued in the UK, I wouldn't be surprised if it is elsewhere too
-
How did you find out it was discontinued? I would like to know more information.
-
I wanted to buy a customised CW2 but most of the options weren't available so I rang Sony Style and they told me it was end of line. There are also very few preconfigured models left to buy.
-
Wow, that really sucks. Why would Sony discontinue this? 1600x900 and GT330M were PERFECT in a portable powerhouse...
-
One config that used to have it was the VAIO CW27FX, it's gone from Amazon and BestBuy

So it does look like this particular config with the 330m is gone. -

Hmm. That's news to me! I guess with all the other notebooks currently shipping that also feature the GT330m, Sony was feeling a bit squeezed for NVIDIA parts. That's my guess. Also since the Z uses the GT330m and the E-series uses the ATI HD5650, that Sony wants to push people into higher priced notebooks. If they can sell the Z with a GT330m @ $1900+ then why would they include the same hardware in a notebook that costs a thousand less. Totally a Sony move IMO. There has to be some differentiation between models, and the Z and the CW were pretty close to me. They maybe trying to separate them a bit.
-
That's unfortunate. After a long dilemma, I had finally decided on the 1600x900 330m CW.

The CW got replaced by the new EA
