    Hi all,

Can you guys tell me what is the difference between Vaio Z890 and Z12?
AFAIK, the main difference is Z890 use Core2 DUO and normal HDD, and Z12 run core i5 and SSD raid?
About the design, performance.... is there any huge difference?

I see on Sony page, there are Z890S7, Z890S8... etc. The configuration look like the same but they have difference model, difference price. Is there any hidden info?

    Thanks so much

Z890 also can come equipped with Dual Raid SSD config. but coming from Z790 and jumping to the new 2010 model, z11, I find minimal difference if, at all in performance. Main reason i did upgrade was for simply aesthetics. I am a Z fan :)

IMHO, the most significant difference for me will have to be the improved GPUs found in the new VAIO Z notebooks (2010 models) from the older VAIO Z notebooks (2008-2009 models). :)

z590 to z890 had 9300gs. z11-z13 has a 330m. It is a pretty big jump graphics wise especially for me since I do play games on my z's

The 2010 Z models (Z11/12/13) also got a multi-touch capable Synaptics touchpad (instead of single-touch Alps touchpad from previous models), backlit keyboard, and they're 0.5 lbs lighter. They also have an Auto graphics settings under Windows 7.

If you found a reasonable price, take it. this notebook is found for $1500 as MS store (less with some discounts/haggling) so anything below that I would guess is reasonable. Normal price for it is around $1900

How about the screen quality of a VPN-Z520N, is it somehow at par with the succeeding Z models or is the difference quite big? I'm planning to purchase this model for roughly $680 that has been used for almost a year.
