I am trying to buy a sony T series notebook. There is the sony t150, T250, T350, T450..... and now something call TX. Can someone tell me what is the difference bewteen all these models. I know it is in the configuration and the time it was released. But is there really any difference? Maybe there is a site that lays it out. I'm trying to pick the right one to buy. I want to balance price with features. If there is someone kind enough to explain to me the difference in a spread sheet like structure. Thanx

They are progressively newer, with the TX being the most recent. The screen size has changed a litle bit, the TX is about .6" larger than the T and the more recent TX and T models offer integrated Cingular WAN. There are several machines even in the TX series. They're all the same machine with varrying specs.

The T150 has a 1.1 ghz Pentium M processor and 40 gig hard drive. The T250s and T350s have a 1.2 ghz Pentium M processor and 60 gig hard drives.

The T3XX's come with double layer dvd burner drives versus the single layer dvd burners in the older T models and a small antenna on the side for EDGE connectivity. The T2XXs and T3XXs also have slighty better battery life that the T1XXs

The T170,T270,T370 come with one gig of ram versus the 512 megs of ram in the T150,T250 and T360. All of these come with DVD writers.

The T160,T260,T360 come with one gig of ram but DVD/CD-RW drives instead and the T140,T240,T340s come with that same drive and 512 megs of ram.

The TX's have 1.2 ghz Pentium Ms and slighter bigger screens which are also much thinner. The whole notebook is lighter than any T as well. The TX650 is the standard model with 512 megs of ram, TX670s have 1 gig of ram and TX690's have 1.5 gigs of ram. All models have dvd writers. The TXs also come with SD card readers in addition to memory stick readers whereas the Ts only can read memory sticks and these come with Intel's GMA 900 graphics versus the Intel Extreme 2 graphics in the Ts. The EDGE antenna on the TX's can be taken off whereas the one on the Ts cannot.

    Hope this all helps. :)
