On Sony support update site, the Intel® 3945ABG/BG driver version 10.5.1.59 was updated long time ago to the original version, which still have some bugs.

Anybody know the latest updates available for download: Intel® PRO/Wireless Network Connection Driver with PROSet® Utility.

Checked out Intel site update, I found this link http://downloadcenter.intel.com/scr...fessional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21. But I dont know which one is compatible with SZ (XP Pro)???

    thanks

I use the version 10.5.1.75, which I downloaded at Intel sometime ago.

The wireless card my SZ has is Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. In this case 3. option in drivers section corresponds to it which is 10.5.1.84 (WIRELESS_V10.5.3.0_WIN_DRIVERS.ZIP)

On the other hand, ProSet Utility seems to be updated.

Why dont you update Sony Site to make sure that the drivers are compatible with your model. Update from Intel is risky!

Are you insane??? Intel is the hardware manuafacturer of the wifi module. They now how that hardware works and what security holes there are. Sony just puts that module in there laptops. If somebody knows the driver, it is the hardware manufacturer.

Sorry, but that post is the worsk pile of ... I've read in a long time. If you have a graphics cards from a small taiwanese maker in your desktop pc that carries an NVidia GPU would you wait till they release a driver? No, you would install the latest Forceware from NVidia. And that is "risky"???

By the way, the latest driver is 11.1.0.86 - directly fom Intel -> http://downloadcenter.intel.com/scripts-df-external/T8Clearance.aspx?url=/13001/eng/V11.1.0.0_VT_DRIVERS.ZIP&agr=N&ProductID=2259&DwnldID=13001&lang=eng
