    What is this "extra piece" ???

    I recently decomposed my Sony Vaio VGN-s580 to change my hard disk. I also wanted to reset the bios battery which is located under the motherboard. So I pulled everything apart literally. And then I put them back together and now everything works very well. However I have an "extra piece" and I don't remember where it came from. It is a very thin black piece, there are two photos of it below. I have no idea what it is and where it is supposed to be. It may be a piece to isolate power connection from the fan but that is just a guess, and I could not find a slot to have this piece put in that upper right corner of the laptop anyway. So I ask you guys, somebody please help me: What is this "extra piece" and where should I put it?

    Thats where some masking tape and a pen or sharpie would have come in handy

    I know... But it is too late for some masking tape and a pen. What I need now is an actual help, not an advise. I will use your advise next time...
