    Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80GHz 1066MHz 6MB 35W $530
    Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MB 35W $316
    Core 2 Duo P9500* 2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MB 25W $348
    Core 2 Duo P8600 2.40GHz 1066MHz 3MB 25W $241
    Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz 1066MHz 3MB 25W $209

It's a shame we dont have the P9500 as an option, @ only a $33 increase its as fast as the T9400 and uses almost 1/3 the power.

Since the T9400 & T9600 draw the same amount of power, I'm thinking I'm going to go with the T9600

A 2.8 CPU makes sense for people who use CPU intensive applications like video editing, en/decoding and maths applications. Otherwise there is no benefit.

I'd go for the cheapest P8400 and then I can always upgrade a year later at a fraction of the cost.

i went with the 8600. a bit of more power. but chose that since it was the best processor that was 25W. i didn't wanna get a 35W.

If I go with the FW (still undecided) I'd most likely choose the P8600 2.40GHz.

For just $50 more than the P8400, I think it's worth it.

    # Intel® Core 2™ Duo Processor P8400 (2.26GHz)
    # Intel® Core 2™ Duo Processor P8600 (2.4GHz) [add $50.00]
    # Intel® Core 2™ Duo Processor T9400 (2.53GHz) [add $200.00]
    # Intel® Core 2™ Duo Processor T9600 (2.8GHz) [add $500.00]
