I have bought a Vaio from the FS series and decided to reinstall XP with my own disc. One problem that i have discovered is that the scroll function when I touch the right or bottom side of the touch pad have stopped working. Does anyone know what I have to install to make it work? I tried to install something called Alps pointing device driver but there's an error saying DLL could not be opened.

Yes - you need to install the touchpad driver. I suggest going to Sony's support website, then download the latest touchpad driver for the FS series.

Let me know if that helps. ;)

    It worked. Thank you.

I just had to replace my existing PS/2 drivers with the new ones.

How come when I try to install the touchpad driver from Sony's website it says I have the wrong model? I have a FS740 and that is where I am grabbing it from. I even followed the correct order that the "fresh install" says to follow. Thanks.

I had the same problem on my S. If you have the driver on recovery media, you can install it the old fashioned way through the device manager.
