What should be done after offloading 100 GB from a 256GB Z22 SSD?

I hope the title doesn't turn everyone off . So, the deal is that my 256GB stock SSD in my Z22 was getting to 75% full so I decided to offload all the big video and music files to an external drive and freed up almost 100GB so that now I am about 40% of capacity. My question: for purposes of improving the longevity of the SSDs (and maybe write performance) is there something I should do/program I should run to optimize the trimmed down (no pun intended!) drive? Will the garbage collection software do the job automatically? Should I take an image of the drive, wipe it out, wipe out the RAID array, re-create it and put the cloned drive back on it?

Note: I would prefer the least complex method that will do a decent part of the job. I'm looking to prolong the life of SSD.

    Thanks

I'd say that you never have to do a complete wipe to the drive (or the so called Secure Erase), and I guess if you leave it on w/o touching it for some time, that the GC will do its magic.

One thing to note though, I was exactly in your boat, and after offloading, I felt a gain in R/W speeds instantaneously, did not even let it to idle!

Finally, Don't bother yourself with it, just enjoy it!
