Today I converted one of my movies do divx format to watch on my Nokia E61. Now my sony VGN-C21GH has an SD card reader that came with it, which connects through the express port.

I have a 2gig min SD card for my E61. Itcame with a SD adaptor, which is obviously I use to connect it to my notebook. I noticed that when I connect a mini sd card through an adaptor the reader has troubles readin it. I also noticed this on My Dell C610, which has a pcmcia SD card reader. But when I have a proper 2gig SD card it works ok.

I also tried a nokia 64mb mini SD that originally came with my E61. The same issue occrred. So I left the 64mb mini sd plugged into the card rader on my notebook and placed my 2gig SD back into my phone and turned it on to transfer through USB. All was good....then

Then I decided to install google earth for some reason. Half way through the installation I got the BSoD (blue screen of death) and my notebook rebooted

After rebooting it just sat there on the vaio screen. I rebooted several times and to no sucess. I reseated the RAM a million times(dont know wht)

I tried everything. Guess what the problem was? I turned it off and took out the 64mb sd card and then it booted up fine. Tired it again and confirmed it was the 64mb sd that was the problem, well that wasn't the problem, but the fact something was plugged into the sd adaptor was the problem.... strange.

Check the bios. Is this machine capable of booting from the SD slot?

Only thing I can think of is to make sure you have the most up to date card reader driver from the esupport website.
