Hi, im soon to be the owner of the VGNS48GPB, the Australian equivalent of the Sony Vaio S460. But im just wondering if i should be aware of anything about my notebook before i go nuts and install WoW. Although i have made my own pc, this being my fiirst notebook, i have no idea what i should do with my notebook out of the box. I've read around, some ppl suggest that i should format the system, and im a bit confused about the drivers as ive read somewhere that Nvidia doesn't officially support notebook chips or something?
All in all, it would be great if you guys share what u did to your vaio out of the box thanks!

I'd just remove unwanted software and go from there. If you're into gaming, you might look for updated video card drivers.

1. Make the recovery kit.
2. Download all the drivers from Sony support website and burn them to a CD.
3. You could choose to do a Windows clean install. I pinned a guide on top of this section.
4. Video drivers are usually supported through Sony, so you probably can't download directly from nVidia their latest driver and use it. However, there are fixes that enable you to use the regular driver. I think it's also in the clean install guide. -

What I did on my was remove all that stupid bloatware. Next run a Windows Update. Afterwards, install videocodecs or VLC from www.videolan.org and whatever program you want to install. Then make the recovery discs. Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to install AdAware and then run Disk Defragmenter afterwards.
What to do out of the box?
