    Hi all.

I'm having a problem with the above comp. Yesterday while transcoding a video it locked up and then shutdown. On restarting I have 4 2" think green lines vertically on the screen during the vaio logo which then changes to random ascii characters during the windows loading screen. The comp then restarts in a loop or bluescreens with an error relating to the video driver. The problem persists when booting into ubuntu which I have on a partition. I'm pretty sure the video card (a 8400gtm) is dying. Since I'm going to have to replace it I'd like to upgrade if possible. I'm wondering if there's a list anywhere of cards compatible with this comp.

    Thanks in advance...

Cheers for that beaups but my model isn't listed there as being effected. I'm living in Croatia at the minute and have had problems getting the sony centers here to honour the worldwide warranty so I reckon it'll just be easier to get the part replaced by a third party if possible. Does anyone know if the GPU on this model can even be replaced without getting a whole new motherboard?

i do not think so the video card is solidarted to the motherboard.so you can not replace it.
